I’ve just seen bridges get stolen again, and oracles report some outrageously wrong prices—then in the group chat, a bunch of people keep saying, “wait for confirmation… wait for confirmation.” To put it bluntly, confirmation can’t save you if your private key is gone. If you don’t have that many assets, don’t set it up like a bank vault: a hardware wallet is enough—at minimum, don’t let a single computer compromise take everything with it.

As your funds start to build up, I trust multi-signature more: don’t give full authority to one person. Even if you’re insanely confident, you might one day make a slip—sign the wrong chain, click the wrong address.

As for social recovery, it’s for the kind of people who think, “I definitely won’t be able to remember the seed phrase, but my friends are reliable.” The prerequisite is that you’re truly willing to share the recovery right with others—otherwise it’s just switching to a different form of anxiety.

Anyway, at the bridge, my advice is just one thing: whatever you’re most afraid of, use mechanisms to lock down that point.
