Attention for those who frequently use Chrome, Edge browsers for on-chain interactions.
Sharing a practical setting to effectively prevent wallet seed phrase/private key leaks.
That is to modify the browser clipboard permission.
By default, browsers are set to "Websites can request to view the text and images in your clipboard."
If you don't change this, malicious websites or phishing dApps may deliberately prompt a request to view your clipboard. If you accidentally click "Allow,"
they can secretly read your recently copied seed phrase/private key.
After setting: global block, websites can't even prompt, so they can't read your clipboard content.
Permission change entry: Settings → Privacy & Security → Site Settings → Permissions → More permissions → Clipboard → Set to "Not allowed."
Note: Also check if you've unintentionally granted some websites "Allow viewing your clipboard" permission. If so, delete them from the list.
In a bear market, I've seen many people have assets stolen due to leaked private keys/seed phrases. Be cautious.
Core principle: Never copy, paste, or input seed phrases/private keys on any connected device or webpage.
My personal habit is to regularly change wallets, especially those used for on-chain interactions. Don't store too many assets, and for new protocols you're unsure about, try using a new wallet. Developing good usage habits is also very important.
