U.S. Scammer Steals $5M+ in Crypto via Customer Service Impersonation, Says Chain Analyst

According to chain analyst ZachXBT, U.S. scammer Tiffany Milanovich impersonated customer service for hardware wallets and centralized exchanges, stealing at least $5 million in cryptocurrency through fraudulent phone calls and phishing emails.

In June 2026, Milanovich's team stole $1.2 million in Bitcoin and Ethereum from a victim's Trezor wallet using forged BitcoinIRA emails. In October 2025, another victim lost $500,000 in Bitcoin from a compromised Coinbase account. ZachXBT noted that evidence includes complete chat logs, call recordings, and on-chain data; a search warrant has been filed in Connecticut.
