U.S. July CPI Rises 3.4% Year-over-Year; Core CPI Hits Lowest Since March 2021 at 2.5%

U.S. July consumer price index rose 3.4% year-over-year, meeting expectations and down from 3.5% in June. Core CPI, which excludes volatile food and energy prices, increased 2.5% year-over-year, matching the lowest pace since March 2021 and also in line with forecasts, compared to 2.6% previously.

The data indicates that underlying inflation pressures remain moderate in the U.S. economy for July.
