Turkey Restricts Black Sea Vessel Transits Amid Rising Russian, Ukrainian Attacks

According to Bloomberg, Turkey's Coast Guard is restricting commercial vessel transits to the Black Sea due to escalating attacks by Russian and Ukrainian forces in the region. The authority has instructed ships heading to Russia's Novorossiysk, a key oil and grain export hub, that transit permits will not be issued or require additional review time for passages through the Dardanelles Strait. The restrictions similarly apply to vessels bound for Ukraine. No official explanation was provided.
