According to Guru Club, SpaceX and Tesla announced on August 10 that they will invest $16.8 billion to build a Terafab chip facility in Texas. The move marks a major effort to advance semiconductor manufacturing in the United States.

Based on Terafab's facility design and Elon Musk's social media responses, industry observers have speculated that the plant may employ Free Electron Laser (FEL) technology to challenge ASML's LPP EUV lithography system, potentially disrupting the traditional EUV chipmaking monopoly. Musk's reply with "FEL FTW" (FEL For The Win) appeared to confirm the speculation, though FEL has not been officially confirmed as the chosen technology.
