Over $110M in Bitcoin Stolen From 5,000 Coldcard Wallets on August 3

According to Galaxy Research, attackers stole over 1,755 Bitcoin (approximately $110 million at the time) from about 5,000 Coldcard hardware wallets as of August 3. Coldcard manufacturer Coinkite Inc. notified users of a security flaw in the device's key generation mechanism. Block Inc.'s engineering team reported that the Coldcard software generates predictable seed phrases, enabling the theft.
