According to Bitcoin News on X, a long-term Bitcoin holder lost approximately $750,000 in BTC after depositing funds to an Australian exchange, with all assets withdrawn within 12 hours of the deposit. A friend of the victim revealed that hackers had compromised their Google account for around three months, gaining access to email and cloud-backed Google Authenticator credentials, and waited for the holder to deposit BTC before extracting the funds. The exchange approved the withdrawal request, identifying the hacker as the account owner, with notification sent at 3 a.m.
