Ethereum Whale Moves 2,680 ETH After 11 Years; Tether Gets Clean KPMG Audit

ETH-0.57%

According to onchain trackers, an Ethereum whale moved 2,680 ETH worth $5.03 million on Tuesday, Aug. 11, after remaining dormant for 11 years. The Genesis wallet, which had accumulated returns of 605,924% on its original pre-mine investment, sparked speculation about potential selling pressure in the market.

Tether disclosed that KPMG U.S. completed a full audit of its 2025 financial statements, issuing an unqualified opinion—the most favorable conclusion an independent auditor can provide. The audit marks a significant milestone in addressing long-standing concerns about USDT reserve backing and strengthens market confidence in the stablecoin.
