China's Ministry of Water Resources Issues Flood Warning for Taihu Basin on August 15-16

According to China's Ministry of Water Resources, on August 15 morning, the ministry held a meeting to assess nationwide flood prevention conditions. As of 9 a.m. today, 59 rivers across six provinces including Zhejiang, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Anhui, and Henan remained above alert level, with 30 rivers exceeding warning thresholds. According to forecasts, the Taihu basin will experience regional flooding on August 15-16 due to continued rainfall and upstream runoff, while portions of the Yangtze River's lower tributaries and Zhejiang's medium and small rivers may also exceed alert levels.
