According to ChainCatcher citing Livecoins, Brazil's Supreme Court of Justice (STJ) rejected a release petition for suspect Luccas on August 9, 2026, upholding his detention in connection with the $160 million theft from tech company C&M Software. The suspect was accused of illegally accessing the company's liquidation system and stealing approximately 813 million Brazilian reals ($160 million). The criminal organization laundered the funds through multiple blockchains by converting them into Bitcoin (BTC) and USDT, then distributed the cryptocurrency across nearly 300 fake bank accounts to hinder tracking. The main attack occurred in June 2025, and arrest warrants for approximately 20 individuals linked to the case were executed.
