WTI Crude Falls 2.43% to $81.25 on August 13 as IEA Raises Global Demand Decline Forecast

According to data from the New York Mercantile Exchange, WTI crude oil futures for September delivery fell 2.43% to $81.25 per barrel on August 13, while Brent crude for October delivery declined 2.15% to $87.07 per barrel. The International Energy Agency raised its forecast for global crude oil demand decline this year to 1.6 million barrels per day on average, up 51% from its July estimate. The agency also increased its projection for oil supply decline to 4.3 million barrels daily, 600,000 barrels more than previously forecasted.
