Visa Integrates Stablecoin Payments Into Visa Direct via Zerohash Partnership

Visa announced a partnership with onchain infrastructure provider Zerohash to add stablecoin funding and payout capabilities to Visa Direct, its global payments network that spans over 195 countries and territories. Under the integration, eligible business clients will be able to prefund merchant accounts and send payouts directly in stablecoins, while Zerohash provides the regulatory support and technology to connect blockchain-based money with Visa's existing payments infrastructure. The partnership aims to help businesses manage cross-border liquidity and receive funds faster by bypassing traditional banking hours and currency conversion delays. Zerohash, which recently raised $104 million in Series D-2 funding at a $1 billion valuation, holds Electronic Money Institution status under the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets framework and has applied for a U.S. national trust bank charter, positioning it to support regulated stablecoin services across jurisdictions.
