According to Tracxn's August 5 report, Singapore accounted for nearly all of Southeast Asia's $9.3 billion in AI startup funding raised across 261 disclosed equity rounds from 2021 to July 2026. Singapore alone attracted $9.3 billion across 227 rounds, while Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand combined raised less than $40 million.
Funding accelerated significantly in 2026, with AI startups raising $4.1 billion across 23 rounds year-to-date, up from $2 billion in 2025 and $869 million in 2024. A $2.8 billion Series D round for Kling AI accounted for approximately 68% of 2026 year-to-date funding. AI infrastructure was the largest sector with $4.3 billion raised, followed by data center infrastructure at $2.2 billion.
