KCNA: U.S.-Japan-South Korea "trinity"-style threat may become new Asia-Pacific crisis] Jin10 data reported on August 4 that KCNA reported on the 4th that a North Korean military commentator published an article on the 3rd saying that the U.S., Japan, and South Korea are strengthening joint combat capabilities through military exercises, forming a "trinity"-style threat that could become a new security crisis in the Asia-Pacific region.
The article said that in areas around the Korean Peninsula, the U.S. and South Korea conducted exercises in July citing the need to strengthen their joint air capabilities, during which large-scale "combined logistics support exercises" were held; to strengthen command coordination with the Japan Self-Defense Forces' "Joint Operations Command," the United States is accelerating efforts to reorganize the U.S. Forces Japan command into a "Joint Forces Command" with independent combat capabilities.
The United States has also deployed the "Typhon" intermediate-range missile system in Japan and plans to deploy this system to South Korea.
The article pointed out that Japan is openly discussing nuclear self-armament and conducting launch drills in the Pacific with U.S.-made "Tomahawk" cruise missiles; South Korea, meanwhile, is pushing forward on a large scale with nuclear submarine development projects.
The actions of the U.S., Japan, and South Korea undermine security in the Asia-Pacific region and exacerbate instability. All parties should be vigilant against this trend and curb it.
