According to Darcy, co-founder of security firm FlashRescue, a Hyperliquid user lost approximately $550,000 in USDC after clicking a malicious Google search ad that directed them to a fake Hyperliquid website. Blockchain analysis showed three transfers from the victim's wallet to addresses controlled by the attacker. The incident highlights an ongoing vulnerability in Google's ad platform, where scammers use paid listings to impersonate popular crypto protocols and steal user credentials or approvals.
