According to CryptoUK's official announcement, the FCA has removed the proposed fungibility exception under the UK's final Assets and Derivatives (A&D) rules, effective immediately. Trading platforms can no longer rely solely on fungibility to bypass the requirement for a separate Qualified Cryptoasset Designation (QCDD) when admitting qualifying cryptoassets. The change mandates stricter compliance measures for all crypto firms operating in the UK.
