According to Jin10, CBOT corn December futures slipped 0.43% in the week ending August 7, 2026, pressured by beneficial rains in the Midwest and weaker crude oil prices. However, U.S. corn demand remained active and ongoing Black Sea conflicts continued to disrupt grain exports from the region, limiting downside. The USDA reported that in June, corn used in ethanol production totaled 466.71 million bushels, down 1.5% month-over-month but up 4.43% year-over-year and marking a record high for the period. The U.S. Energy Information Administration noted that as of July 31, average U.S. ethanol production fell to 1.107 million barrels per day, down from 1.133 million the prior week.
