According to Chainlink, BitGo adopted Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) on August 4 as the default infrastructure for its $7.7 billion in Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC) and all future company-issued digital assets. The move replaces BitGo's legacy bridging provider with Chainlink CCIP to establish unified security standards and operational policies for cross-chain transfers.

Every CCIP bridge route is supported by at least 16 independent node operators across different organizations and geographic regions, reducing risks from single points of failure. BitGo will use CCIP's transfer controls to establish limits and configure transaction safeguards that can delay or restrict transactions when suspicious activity is identified.
